Ok, so I love startups, worked for a few, consulted with others and am always interested in new ideas. As a professional in an interactive agency setting it is also important for me to be versed on the technologies and tools that go into building great web sites and applications. For me, designing this website required a few tools in the market namely WordPress, Photoshop, FileZilla, etc. What I am not very good at is design. That could be web, print, hand drawings of vintage airplanes on napkins, etc. So when I saw a post about psd2css I thought what a great and useful tool for people like me.
According to their website, “psd2css online converts your fantastic, creative, artistic, no holds barred web page designs into strict XHTML compliant CSS web pages automatically. Use Photoshop or The Gimp to express yourself and create the most professional, aesthetically perfect and functional designs you can think of. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and is technically the best way to build your web pages.”
Try it out for yourself, seems kind of simple but really, for the thousands of designers out there who need access to someone to “cut” up their design into an HTML page, this might be the saviour. They have a video on Youtube that shows a simple example of how it works.
